Anti-choice politicians have been working over time at the NC General Assembly.
Extreme lawmakers in Raleigh have tried to ban birth control coverage, shutter the doors of abortion clinics, and deny women access to cervical cancer screening and family planning services. Politicians have tried to impose regulations on doctors and medical providers that have absolutely nothing to do with protecting women’s health and everything to do with shutting down abortion providers. They even pushed through an unconstitutional law that would only allow "Choose Life" license plates that would have funded so-called crisis pregnancy centers that mislead and misinform women who come to them for help.
These anti-choice laws discriminate against women and ultimately, threaten their health and safety. They also can delay access to vital health services. Without comprehensive women's health centers, thousands of women in North Carolina could lose access to the low-cost health services they rely on for a wide-range of services from cancer screenings to prenatal care.
We must make our voices heard, before it's too late.
