A General Joins the fight for Choice
NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina is proud to introduce the newest member of our staff, LaFonda Jones-General. LaFonda is our new Civic Engagement Coordinator and will continue the amazing work of our former Field Organizer, Amy Woodell. Before joining NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina, LaFonda was the North Carolina project director for Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM). LaFonda is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science from North Carolina Central University where she graduated magna cum laude, and she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at North Carolina Central University. LaFonda is a lifetime subscribing member of the NAACP and has been appointed to serve on the National NAACP Prisoner Rights Sub-Committee because of her commitment to change the criminal injustices associated with mandatory minimum sentencing policies. This appointment was bestowed upon La-Fonda by Julian Bond, Chairman of the National Board of Directors for the NAACP. We are incredibly thrilled to have someone with LaFonda’s talent, passion and experience leading our civic engagement work. LaFonda’s commitment to working with marginalized populations will bring greater depth to our work for women who have been left behind by policies in North Carolina. As the civic engagement coordinator for NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina, LaFonda is responsible for building and fostering collaborations with organizations and volunteers across North Carolina to promote NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina’s mission for reproductive freedom and comprehensive sex education in schools. Please welcome LaFonda by emailing her at LaFonda@ProChoiceNC.org. Also please note our new website: http://www.prochoicenc.org/.
