Women in rural areas less likely to receive EC than urban residents; Pro-choice activists support improving health care for all rape survivors Raleigh, NC – According to a NARAL Pro-Choice NC paper published in the recent edition of the NC Medical Journal, women in rural areas are less likely to receive EC in emergency room departments than urban residents in the state. NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina supports bills introduced last session that would ensure sexual assault survivors are offered emergency contraception in all hospital emergency departments.
