Extreme anti-choice bill being considered in the House
Anti-choice legislators have introduced House Bill (H.B.) 854, which is being touted as the "Woman's Right to Know" Act. H.B. 854 is particularly dangerous because it creates even more obstacles for women who seek abortion in North Carolina.
This bill would require a mandatory 24-hour waiting period before a woman can access abortion care, which forces women to make multiple visits to her doctor. If passed, it would also force physicians to read from a state-scripted speech that contains anti-choice language. The bill would also mandate that an ultrasound be performed.
