Is Forsyth County out of options this winter?
Imagine this: you're in a store, searching for the perfect holiday gift. You can see it on the shelves – but when you try to buy it, the cashier stops you. "Sorry," he says, "I don't want you to have that, so I won't sell it to you."It sounds ridiculous, right? But the Walgreens in Clemmons is trying to do that to the women of our community who are looking for something far more important than a present for the holidays. The Walgreens is blocking women from purchasing emergency contraception (EC). Though Walgreens' corporate policy states that stores "will make Plan B® available for over-the-counter sale to customers (male or female) age 18 and older." the Walgreens on Lewisville-Clemmons Road in Clemmons is refusing to sell Plan B®. EC is not effective after 120 hours, so it's vital that this over-the-counter product is accessible. You can help us change this. Please stand with us and add your name to our petition. We are calling on the Clemmons Walgreens to follow its corporate policy and make safe and effective birth control available to all women. Click here to add your name to those who believe that women should have access to safe and effective emergency contraception at their local pharmacy.
